Spin time forward a year from now, when you’re all back at nVision 2025, where do you think (or hope) your organization will be with the adoption and/or use of artificial intelligence on a scale of 1 to 100?

Jon:

Well, that’s a tough question. I would say the most AI exposure with our group that currently has it, is with Teams meetings. So, the folks that have co-pilot within Teams meetings are sharing that content with the folks that were in the meeting. That’s where a lot of those requests come from. There’s probably going to be a lot more growth from that avenue. I think with our marketing team, too, assisting with proposals there’ll be probably more of an uptick. Also, in our IT department we leverage it for script assistance. We ask co-pilot to write a script for XYZ, but then always verify it’s correct before we use it, so it’s hard to put a percentage on it. I think the demand is going to be greater and greater as we continue to move forward, but we also need to harness that so we can manage it as we grow into it.

Jason:

I’d like to see an uptick in it because it’s meant to improve your life and make you work smarter not harder so you can focus on the important things, and be more creative. For example, in our department we have co-pilot so we’re leveraging it to do summarizations, etc. And the same thing with our business analyst department, they’re also doing summarizations of things which alleviates some of their workload.

Joel:

If we’re at 20 today I expect this to be at 21 this time next year. Now we’re spending a lot of time engaging with users who could benefit from it but just haven’t really engaged with it yet. That’s where I see the most opportunity for adoption. We’re still pretty immature with data classification so that’s going to have to take place first. Our primary interest in using AI is where it’s going to be a benefit to our employees and our product. I don’t see us investing a ton of resources in the next year. If you would say five years, I would guess we’d be somewhere in the 35 to 50 range.

Jay:

I think it’s going to be slow for banks: we’re not known to jump in the newest technology when it arrives. I’m guessing we’re probably going to be in about the same spot next year. Maybe a few more banks will jump into it a little, but I don’t see a huge uptick until some of the big providers like Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, and others come up with a proven solution.
